This week's obsession is most definitely Thailand!!
We left Okinawa on Friday night after Tom got off work. We opted not to take the red eye to Bangkok and instead stay in Tokyo for the night. When we booked our hotel room, the description said "mountain view" and when we got to the room one of the first things Tom had to do was check the view. Thus, when he called for me to come check it out, I figured I would see a mountain or hill, but all I saw was snow everywhere! I have only seen real snow, the kind that actually sticks to the ground, once, so naturally when I saw the snow I squealed like a 5 year old and kept repeating "it's snowing!!!" Despite being exhausted, Tom knew how excited I was and came downstairs with me so I could play in the snow - It was almost the best part of the entire trip :)

The next morning, we woke up early and on little sleep left for the airport. When we went to get our boarding passes, we were told they didn't have any seats left that were together and instead we would both be sitting in the middle of the plane in the middle seat!! I almost started to cry - this was not starting off the way we had planned. We took our chances at the gate and asked again without any luck.
However, my husband knows I don't fly well and managed to get me a window seat since he is pretty awesome. About two hours into the flight, the older Japanese lady I was sitting next to, tapped me and began to point to the back of the plane and then her watch. I had NO idea! After a few exchanges with the flight attendant, I was beyond confused when Tom came and sat down - the lady had realized I was not sitting with my husband and offered to change seats with him until about an hour before landing. We both told her thank you and I hope the big smile I gave her as she got off the plane let her know she had made our day.
Tom had arranged for the hotel 7 series BMW to pick us up at the airport so we could ride in luxury! After cleaning up, unpacking, and eating the bananas they gave us (a first for me), we set out to find a Thai restaurant. We ended up picking a cafe near our hotel - it was delicious! Tom had Red Curry over Prawns and I had Duck Curry (another first) and we both had a beer. We had to be up at 4 AM the next day so we decided to head back to the hotel early that night...
